Carlsbad Real Estate

Carlsbad is a coastal community located 35 miles north of the City of San Diego.  Covering 40 square miles, Carlsbad runs along the Pacific Ocean, just north of La Costa to Oceanside.  Although the “village” dates back to the late 1880s, most of Carlsbad’s construction is recent.  Carlsbad is currently home to 90,000 residents; at build-out in 2010, the population is expected to exceed 135,000.   

The downtown or “village” is currently undergoing redevelopment, but the majority of the growth is in the residential sector.  Carlsbad is home to several master-planned communities, including Calavera Hills, Bressi Ranch, Robertson Ranch, and the Villages of La Costa.  Builders such as Greystone, Corky McMillan, Centex, Fieldstone, Shea, and Western Pacific Housing offer condominiums, apartments, single-family homes, and estates in Carlsbad.

Carlsbad’s many amenities, including the local Palomar airport, have encouraged real estate and business investment in the area.  Many growing companies are headquartered there, including Callaway Golf, Forbes, Taylor Made and Isis Pharmaceuticals. Offering beautiful beaches, Legoland, the Flower Fields, world-class golf courses, and a variety of housing options, Carlsbad boasts an enviable quality of life.
