Linda Vista Real Estate
Linda Vista is
taken from the Spanish for "beautiful view." The University of San Diego sits
atop one of the area's tallest hills and is often mistaken for the San Diego
Mission. This strategically located neighborhood of San Diego overlooks Mission
Bay, the Pacific Ocean on the west, and Mission Valley on the south, with
Tecolote Canyon on the northwest. Linda Vista offers affordable housing with
many residents enjoying city and ocean views.
Predominantly an
Asian community, Linda Vista has a mix of apartments, condominiums, townhomes,
and detached single-family homes, many dating from the WWII era when new housing
was built to accommodate the shipbuilding industry. Subdivisions include parts
of Fashion Valley, featuring many newer townhomes ideal for first time
homebuyers and young professionals. Fox Run, Pueblo Terrace, Friar Village, and
Sunset Meadows are all newer developments within Linda Vista with homes ranging
from the low $200,000s to the mid-$500,000s.
Currently the
Linda Vista Shopping Center--the oldest in San Diego is under renovation. A
community center is in the planning stages as well. Linda Vista offers one of
the best home buying opportunities in all of San Diego due to its still low
prices, great infrastructure, and central location.
