Scripps Ranch Real Estate
Scripps Ranch is located
east of I-15 about 15 miles north of San Diego. Most of the homes in the area
were built and occupied in 1970-1980's with new construction continuing mainly
in the new master planned community called Scripps Ranch Villages along
Scripps-Poway Parkway. Although there are spectacular beautiful custom homes, the majority of homes in Scripps Ranch are comprised of middle-class
and upper-middle-class modern homes. Much of the open area is set aside for
recreation and as nature preserves, including Miramar Lake, which offers hiking
trails and fishing.
Scripps Ranch offers
condominiums, townhomes, and single-family detached residences. Condominiums in
the older areas such as Timberlane are the most affordable. Newer developments
such as Legacy, Triana, and Affinity offer townhomes and condos in the mid
$400,000s and up. All of these complexes offer pools, tennis courts and recreation centers. There are numerous developments of detached homes in the
area, ranging from the mid $500,000s at Aspire and Surrey Court to the $700,000s
at Wine Country and The Parks, to the recently built Arbors where luxury homes
are more than $1 million.
Families are
attracted to this community. Scripps Ranch kids attend San Diego Unified School
District schools. Scripps Ranch High School opened its doors in September 1993.
New elementary and middle schools were opened in recent years. A few of the
schools are open year-round. Elementary schools ranked in the 90th percentile, among the highest in the state. The Scripps Ranch Business Park houses large
companies like Geico and smaller product and service-oriented companies
providing employment to local residents. Shopping and other services are
centrally located.
