Sorrento Valley Real Estate
Sorrento Valley is an upscale bedroom community located on the northern edge of
the City of San Diego just 10 miles from downtown. With Carmel Valley to the
north and the Golden Triangle to the south, Sorrento Valley is centrally located
and easily accessible.
The area’s family-oriented neighborhoods offer a variety of housing, shopping
and recreation. Most of the residential areas are single-family homes, but there
is also a good selection of townhomes and condominiums. The largest homes are
built in hillside areas and have spectacular city views.
Condominiums in Sorrento Valley are priced in the high $400,000s and up with
detached homes from $600,000. Nearby Sorrento Mesa, located further east toward
Mira Mesa, is home to San Diego's burgeoning telecommunications and wireless
technology industries. Biotechnology research firms and support companies have
also located in this area.
Recreational areas nearby include Del Mar and La Jolla beaches, Torrey Pines
State Reserve and several lagoons noted for bird watching. The Del Mar
Fairgrounds are also nearby offering exhibitions, the Del Mar Fair and the Del
Mar Racetrack.
